ESCMID-Fördergesellschaft gGmbH founded in 2012, is a non-profit limited liability company registered with the commercial register at the Munich District Court/Germany.
The company shall directly pursue non-profit purposes according to the provisions of the German tax regulations entitled “steuerbegünstigte Zwecke“ in Germany as well as abroad.
The company primarily promotes and supports other entities of private law (“Koerperschaften privaten Rechts”), who pursue the goal of fighting infectious diseases and related fields. It shall acquire assets to be made available to such entities, who are required to pursue non-profit purposes in accordance with the provisions of the German tax regulations (“Abgabenordnung”).
In addition, the company shall devote itself to the promotion of research and education in diagnosis and therapy in the fields of clinical microbiology and infectious diseases. The fields of clinical microbiology and infectious diseases encompass the study of the following: the pathogens, pathogenesis, diagnosis, epidemiology, prevention and therapy of infectious diseases, including drug usage policy, infection control, and all other basic and clinical aspects of infection and immunity. The company supports education and teaching, collaboration in research projects and in professional matters, various publications as well as events and other activities related to these aims.
